Balloons tied to branches.
Pinks and aquamarines bounce in the sway
of wind and tug of children's sticky fingers.
Presents tight-rope walk limbs--
'til cake and games are done--
then down to hands and giggles.
The donkey gets his tail,
someone trips and tears her dress,
candles blow out.
Ribbons found curled in bushes weeks later.
